On May 4, 2012 the hip-hop community lost a legendary emcee Adam Yauch (aka MCA) of the influential hip-hop group, Beastie Boys. Adam Yauch died at the age of 47 after being diagnosed with cancer in the parotid gland in 2009. In 1979 the legendary artist formed the Beastie Boys with many members including Michael Diamond (Mike-D) and Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) and has various hits such as Sabotage, Make Some Noise, and Intergalactic. The Beastie Boys have recently been inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012, which Adam Yauch was absent for due to his illness. Adam Yauch has left a lasting influence in the musical and will surely not be forgotten.
