Over 5,000 people honestly thought that Drake went too far when he dissed Kid Cudi over his recent admission to rehab due to his long battle of depression and suicidal thoughts.
Care2 petition has called out Drake for “intending to make fun of Kid Cudi’s depression.” The petition, which can be found here, was started by an internet user going by the name “Paige D” and has garnered thousands of signatures.
The petition also says: “Mental health is not a joking manner.
According to Mental Health America, the most common disorder amongst suicide victims is depression. Depression and or bipolar disorder affects about 30-70 percent of suicide victims.” The petition’s mission is to get Drake to donate money that he earns from the “Two Birds, One Stone” track to mental health charities.
What really ruffled people’s feathers was when Drake referred to Kid Cudi’s alleged drug usage and called Kid Cudi’s emotional ups and downs “phases.”
“You were the man on the moon/ Now you just go through your phases/ Life of the angry and famous… Still never been on hiatus/ You stay xanned and perked up/ So when reality set in you don’t gotta face it.”
Cudi responded to Drake’s song by tweeting “Say it to [my] face, p****. You think it’s a game. I wanna see you say it to my face. I’ll be out soon. Promise.”
Drake has yet to respond to Kid Cudi’s tweet.
